Good Shepherd Entertainment, known for publishing titles like the Hard West series and Killer Klowns from Outer Space: The Game, has officially partnered with Rebellion to bring the 2000 AD comics universe to life.
A new official blog post reveals a variety of goals from the new partnership, making it clear that “the new agreement includes game adaptations of stories from 2000 AD”. So, fans can likely expect direct adaptations, though it’s unclear if any original tales will be made.
Specific character adaptations are not mentioned in Rebellion’s blog today. Amanda Kruse, head of business development and publishing for Good Shepherd, does mention that fans can look forward to both the high-demand IP and “deep cuts in the library”.

2000 AD is probably best known for Judge Dredd, who has popular film adaptations. 2012’s Dredd featured an incredible cast, a gritty tone, and impressively bloody violence that is well-staged. The Judge Dredd IP remains one of the most compelling meditations on crime, drugs, and the police, easily comparable to the likes of RoboCop.
It would be ideal for Good Shepherd to concentrate on Judge Dredd early on. Firstly, it’s similar to Showgunners, which they published. Also, Dredd would really help open up mainstream audiences to some of the lesser-known characters, who boast equally rich content and characters, but reach a little further into strangeness that may not be as accessible.
Good Shepherd is already familiar with stark worlds brimming with action, and they even tend to excel in that particular lane, though they maintain a decent range of genres. They published John Wick Hex, which was developed by Bithell Games, and also serves as an example of how Good Shepherd recognizes and comprehends successful adaptation.
