Gotham Knights, the divisive open world RPG from WB Games, has just released patch notes for all of today’s new changes. These include updates for a variety of PC issues, as well as controller updates for Xbox and the PlayStation 5. Here’s the announcement from Gotham Knights’ official Twitter thread:
Gotham Knights has been dealing with an uphill battle since launch, when fans were torn over its approach and content. The story itself is pretty fun, but it’s faced a lot of criticism for combat and key mechanics.
There has also been a wide range of technical issues, and the latest patch was back in December 2022. So, it’s nice to see extensive new patch notes resolving the PC side of things.
Fortunately, today’s patch notes start off by mentioning stability fixes. Gotham Knights has been prone to a lot of crashing, and that can be really punishing in this game. You don’t want to lose your progress when every night is filled with a barrage of crimes in the form of side quests.
Further, cooperative gameplay plays a pretty big role in Gotham Knights. Last November, the devs even added Heroic Assault mode, creating a new cooperative mode that supports up to four players. But coop has only highlighted even more troubling crashes. At times, guest players will even lose the opportunity to pick up where they left off if their teammate hosted.
However, the listed performance and graphics updates should be a serious relief for PC players too. In general, the PC platform demands higher performance from video games, often maximizing visuals with unique technology. Sprucing up the rendering should make a difference.
Sadly, the consoles didn’t get a very ideal patch. They’ll maintain some of their more annoying issues for now, since the only updates involved controller effects. The full official patch notes are available here.
