Gotham Knights has had very few updates, but the game just scheduled a brand-new “mission update” for some long-awaited news after two months of waiting.

So, although the update will be released at 6 AM pacific time, it’s worth getting up a little early. Here’s the post from the upcoming RPG’s official Twitter feed:

The artwork in this promo features the in-game weapons of Red Hood and Nightwing, and also mentions the “Belfry”. More casual fans, who may be closely following the game after the runaway success of The Batman, should know that the Belfry is just a secret headquarters built into Wayne Tower.

It seems that Gotham Knights has decided to drip-feed its promos. On Twitter, the game has barely posted a couple of seasonal celebrations for Halloween and Christmas.

And the last time the game tweeted any real news back in March, all that fans received was a release date. Even at DC Fandome 2021, the virtual convention for everything in the DC universe, the Court of Owls was the only big reveal.

However, it was just recently revealed that the game may be increasing its co-op player size to four. So, it may be possible that tomorrow’s mission update will just confirm some existing leaks, rather than introduce anything new. That would certainly be some fitting damage control.

Right now, the most comparable superhero experience is Marvel’s Avengers, which has consistently been met with mixed reviews.

One of the game’s many issues includes the redundant War Zone and Drop Zone missions from launch. Few games offer a true co-op campaign to begin with, let alone in the superhero genre.

So, even if Gotham Knights simply confirms a four-player story, it will still stand alone among its peers. Fans are particularly hoping to see some gameplay of this in action.
