What is Gunbrella?

Gunbrella is a gritty side-scrolling adventure set in a world dependent on a rapidly diminishing natural resource. Players will step into the shoes of a gruff woodsman on a quest for revenge, entering an unfamiliar town armed only with the titular Gunbrella, a high-caliber firearm that doubles as an umbrella. As the investigation unfolds, players will encounter a creepy cabal of ghouls, gangsters, cops, cultists, and the consequences of corporate exploitation.

Key Features of Gunbrella:

  • Mastery of the Gunbrella: Engage in thrilling action, utilizing the Gunbrella’s unique maneuverability and combat capabilities. Use it to glide, swing, dash, and dive around the world, discovering hidden secrets along the way.
  • Investigative Adventure: Explore a range of unusual locations and interact with bizarre characters as you seek answers. Keep track of your findings in a notebook and be prepared to retrace your steps.
  • Upgrade and Enhance: Collect scrap and spare parts to trade for various munitions and upgrades for your Gunbrella. As supernatural threats arise, you’ll need to be well-equipped.

You can play Gunbrella early on Nintendo Switch, however it’s not that easy to do. As you have to pay for the game using New Zealand dollars as that is the currency of New Zealand; you cannot use local currency. Do the following:

  1. Set up your console to the New Zealand region.
  2. Go to the Nintendo website and change your account to New Zealand.
  3. Restart the e-shop on your console to apply the region change.
  4. Purchase the game on the NZ eShop using New Zealand dollars (ensure your bank allows this or use Gift Cards).
  5. Wait for the game’s release in New Zealand.

You cannot play Gunbrella early on PC. While some VPNs previously enabled a workaround for this, recent adjustments to certain VPNs and digital distribution platforms have rendered these methods pretty useless. Sadly, PC players of Gunbrella will have to wait.
