343 Industries is going to patch in a brand-new Halo Infinite update next week on May 10th, 2023, and now Halo fans have a large preview of the numerous changes to expect. The May Update will include Halo 5 mode Super Fiesta, Sandbox balancing changes, Forge improvements, key fixes and more.

Halo Infinite is available now on PC and Xbox. Today’s preview was revealed in a new tweet from the official Halo feed:

Halo 5 was a divisive entry to say the least, when 343 Industries first began to casually dismantle many fundamental joys of the franchise, removing the split screen campaign and “reducing” Master Chief’s story. However, the Halo community has continued to keep the franchise alive, so the return of familiar multiplayer modes from Halo 5 like Super Fiesta is nice to see.

Next week’s May Update looks to be enormous, reaching far beyond simple mode additions. Some of the more technical adjustments are actually the highlights, compared to some traditional balancing. For example, the FPS Counter on Xbox might genuinely serve forgers pretty well. Custom Game is also going to be tidied up with easier access to the browser, which is always busy.

Script brains in forge are also getting a 128 node cap, without affecting existing maps above that limit. It has always been annoying when technical problems stifle creativity in Halo, and forge maps have been a crucial way for Halo to survive.

Stability was put front and center under Halo Infinite’s plans for bug fixes, which is reassuring to see. Better performance is always widely requested, and server crashes are a big deal in something as competitive as Halo.

Currently, Halo Infinite is running the Site Unseen event, which began on May 2nd and will last through May 16th, 2023. You can watch the recent trailer on Halo’s official YouTube channel:
