DON’T NOD, the publisher and developer behind the much-anticipated game Harmony: The Fall of Reverie, has announced its release dates for multiple platforms. The game will debut on Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam on June 8, followed by a release on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series on June 22.
In the lead-up to the game’s launch, a free playable demo will be available for PC users via Steam for a limited time as part of LudoNarraCon, an event running from May 4 to May 8. This demo, which will remain accessible until May 21, covers the game’s first act, introducing players to its setting, story, and characters.
Harmony: The Fall of Reverie is set in the near future and follows the protagonist, Polly, as she returns home after several years abroad to search for her missing mother. Upon her arrival, she discovers that her hometown has undergone significant changes under the influence of a megacorporation named MK, which now exerts control over the population. Polly soon realizes she possesses a gift of clairvoyance, connecting her to Reverie, the realm of the Aspirations of Humanity: Glory, Bliss, Power, Chaos, Bond, and Truth. As Harmony, Polly is tasked with choosing the Aspiration that will ultimately rule over Reverie and restore the balance between the deities’ world and ours.
Players will navigate the game as Polly or Harmony, with every action taken affecting both worlds and leading to branching narrative paths. Polly’s gift of foresight allows players to see into the future and explore the consequences of possible choices in the Augural, a game board and visual representation of her power. Players will also bond with the Aspirations and obtain crystals from them, unlocking different paths at crucial crossroads that will impact the story’s progression and the ultimate fate of humanity.
Whichever Aspiration rises to power in Reverie, with Harmony’s assistance, will also become the heart of humanity, influencing both Reverie and the real world. Each Aspiration features a distinct personality, goal, and opinion on how to improve the state of things. Players will get to know them as Harmony visits Reverie in her dreams, but the ultimate decision lies with Polly to determine what the world truly needs.
Harmony: The Fall of Reverie boasts bright, vibrant, and futuristic artistic direction, immersing players in a Mediterranean city and its inhabitants. The game’s cast of characters is fully voiced and animated, and the enchanting soundtrack is composed by award-winning artist Lena Raine.
