The Last of Us from Naughty Dog has been a monumental cultural phenomenon in the last decade, producing a sequel that was just as popular and a TV adaptation that was well-received. The 2023 Emmy nominations have been revealed after much anticipation and The Last of Us has been chosen for 26 of the categories.
The first season of The Last of Us ran nine episodes from January to March of 2023, meaning it will be up against other HBO shows from the last year like Succession and The White Lotus. It was an incredibly well-received TV show by the public, so it will be interesting to see how the Television Academy voted when the 2023 Emmys broadcasts on Sept. 18 at 5 p.m. PT.

- Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series
- Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series – Four nominations (Bill, Frank, Henry, Sam)
- Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series – Three nominations (Kathleen, Abel, Tess)
- Outstanding Short Form Nonfiction or Reality Series (Inside the Episode)
- Outstanding Sound Editing for a Comedy or Drama Series
- Outstanding Sound Mixing for a Comedy or Drama Series

Many of these categories have The Last of Us paired against some of the best shows from the last year, but the categories for Guest Actors and Actresses have a decent shot since multiple characters are nominated. Fans will likely see the show bring home multiple awards when the awards show happens at on Sept. 18, 2023.
