Developer Arrowhead Game Studios has revealed the upcoming Warbond for their cooperative shooter Helldivers 2, called “Cutting Edge.” This new content will feature experimental technology and electrifying weaponry and will be released on March 14, 2024. Essentially, it’s a new game pack for players.

According to a PlayStation Blog post written by the studio, a lot is coming. The latest update introduces the EX Series of prototype armor, featuring new defensive options for players on the battlefield. This includes the EX-03 with high-voltage wires, the EX-16 with a magnetic field, and the EX-00, which is supposed to be the ultimate soldier of the future after years of research.

Alongside the new armor, players can obtain various powerful new weapons. The LAS-16 Sickle is a laser rifle that fires in short bursts and does not require reloading, although it can overheat. The SG-8P Punisher Plasma provides devastating close-quarters combat with its exploding plasma rounds, while the ARC-12 Blitzer enables players to project arcs of lightning or unleash powerful bolts. Additionally, the Warbond includes the G-23 Stun grenade and the LAS-7 Dagger pistol, adding to the offensive options available.

Cutting Edge has introduced three new capes for Helldivers players looking to personalize their in-game characters. Each cape comes with matching player cards and emotes. One of the new capes is the Botslayer cape, described as a light tan color, recommended for players who enjoy the game’s robotic theme.

Warbonds can be purchased in the game with real-world money. However, the Helldivers 2 developers have been clear that anything you can buy can also be obtained through playing. So this is really for anyone interested.
