The latest Patch 1.24 has been released for Horizon Forbidden West: Burning Shores on PlayStation 5, aiming to rectify an extensive list of concerns across multiple aspects of the game.

Numerous main quests including “To the Burning Shores”, “Heaven and Earth”, “The Stars in Their Eyes”, “For His Amusement”, and “His Final Act” have seen bugs corrected. These improvements range from fixing progression blockers, such as Seyka blocking the climbing path or the Clamberjaws getting stuck out of player’s reach, to addressing issues related to invisible walls and interaction with objects like the Storage Device or the tentacles during the Horus fight.

Several side quests have been optimized as well, including “In His Wake”, “The Splinter Within”, and “A Friend in the Dark”. Problems like the cell door being unopenable, the skiff getting lodged in plane wrecks, and the crate getting stuck while using the elevator have been resolved. Multiple other improvements have also been made to prevent players from getting stuck in different sections of the side quests.

Improvements have been made to world activities, addressing issues with “Aerial Capture: North” and “Aerial Capture: East”, as well as the Cauldron “THETA” and Relic Ruin “Murmuring Hollow”. Fixes have been implemented for several “Aerial Captures” to prevent Aloy’s callouts from cutting off the recording dialogue, and to avoid blocking the start of the activity or the progression.

Patch 1.24 also resolves issues concerning the “Pangea Figurines” and “Delvers’ Trinket” collectables, datapoints, and machine sites. Several bugs, including missing description in some languages, incorrect codes, and non-spawning machines after reaching Ghost Level 101, have been addressed.

Enhancements have been made to the Specter Gauntlet, correcting issues related to crafting and ammo usage. The Workbench Expert skill has been fine-tuned to decrease the cost of crafting ammo for the Specter Gauntlet.

User interface and user experience (UI/UX) improvements include a fix for the Fabrication Terminal where a question mark would persist for the last entry, potentially causing confusion among players.

The update also includes multiple crash/hang fixes, improvements to frame rate drops, and optimization of art assets. A problem in photo mode, where using it inside the Horus could cause camera clipping and graphical flickering, has been resolved.

Other miscellaneous corrections include the addition of a Brimshine Sliver near the entrance of Cauldron “THETA”, and rectification of multiple issues where players could get stuck in assets and/or geometry or fall out of the world.
