There are two different variations of the Ancestor Spirit within Elden Ring, and while they both look similar, the Regal Ancestor Spirit has far more capability in combat. The base version, found in the underground Siofra Well parts of the game, is already a capable boss that can easily take down players who aren’t careful. But it’s the Regal Ancestor Spirit that is considered a legend type boss with it’s own remembrance, and this guide will explain exactly how to bring the beast down.
Fighting the Regal Ancestor Spirit in Elden Ring
As the battle against the Regal Ancestor Spirit begins in Elden Ring, players who fought the base version of the spirit will be familiar with the fight. The most dangerous move is the leap into the air followed by prancing and a slam. But after about a quarter of health is taken from the Regal variant, the fight will quickly change pace and there will be more moves that the Spirit can utilize. Some of them do more damage and others can completely heal the boss.
Tips for fighting the Regal Ancestor Spirit in Elden Ring:
- The fight is simple until the 75% health mark.
- Players will need to watch out for a roll attack that charges and can do significant damage.
- Dodge into the boss in order to avoid the attack and reserve healing.
- The biggest game changer is the Soul Siphoning move that the Spirit will charge.
- This move siphons health from the spirits around the area and will heal the boss.
- Siphoning will include any Spirit Summons as well, so be careful about what is used in the fight.
- Considering the nature of the boss, bleeds may not help without damaging the heal.
- Staggering is possible and can allow for some fast damage before a heal.
The most difficult aspect of the fight will certainly be the Soul Siphon ability. Staying out of range and minimizing summons can alleviate a lot of the problems that the heal creates in Elden Ring.
How to fight the Regal Ancestor Spirit
To begin the fight against the Spirit, you will need to light six different flame pillars that are spread out in the fields just before accessing the true city of Nokron. In this area, most of the pillars will have singing enemies that make the locations easier to find, but more densely populated with enemies. The pillars can be lit by simply interacting with them.
After all six in the area are lit, players need to head over to the Sacred Grounds where the body of the Spirit lies. This time, there will be blue flame and aura around it and players can interact with the remains to be teleported to the boss arena.
