In My Time at Sandrock, the player has near limitless options in how to engage with the world. Whether it be special events, new character storylines, or daily activities, players are free to live out their best life in Sandrock. Even though there is little water, the player can go fishing for food or fun after being taught by Elsie.
In order to fish, players will need to have progressed that far in the story. The game gives a quick tutorial, but it’s easy to forget it as you get further in the game. Luckily, it isn’t too hard to relearn how to fish in Sandrock. In this guide, we’ll teach you all you need to know about how to fish in My Time at Sandrock.
How to fish in My Time at Sandrock

Players who want to fish will need to have a Sandfish Trap and bait. There are different qualities of bait, as shown by the lower toolbar in the picture above. The better bait the player uses, the higher quality fish they’ll be able to catch.
The easiest fishing hole is going to be beside Eufala salvage, near the ruins entrance on the left. Once players have crafted their trap and gathered the bait, they’ll need to head there to look for fish. The player can try to catch a fish without using bait, but it will be much harder.
The way the fishing minigame works is that the player will throw out bait to attract the fish. From there, the player needs to wait for the Sandfish to get close to the bait, likely stopping to eat it. When they do that, aim for them with the trap. The trap should shoot out, grab the fish, and bring it back to you.
That’s all you need to know about fishing in My Time at Sandrock. Be sure to head to the My Time at Sandrock section of our website for more information and guides on the game!
