Osteo Striga is one of the new exotic weapons in Destiny 2 The Witch Queen. Here's how you can get it.
Osteo Striga Destiny

Destiny 2’s newest expansion, The Witch Queen, is brimming with new content. Add to that the content that comes along with Season 16, and Destiny players have plenty to keep themselves busy for a long time.

Weapons are the heart of any Destiny expansion, and The Witch Queen is no different. Aside from introducing weapon crafting and a new weapon archetype, The Witch Queen also comes loaded with new exotic and legendary weapons of the Glaive weapon type as well as the existing weapon types. One such weapon is the Osteo Striga exotic SMG. Here’s how you can get it.

Exotic Weapon Destiny

What makes Osteo Striga a powerful and unique weapon is its ability to shoot toxic projectiles that do AOE poison damage to enemies. To get Osteo Striga, you must purchase the Deluxe Edition of The Witch Queen expansion.

It’s a situation similar to the one everyone faced at the launch of Beyond Light expansion, in which the No Time to Explain Exotic Pulse Rifle was only available to Deluxe Edition owners at launch. If that continues to be the case here, regular Witch Queen owners shouldn’t expect to get their hands on this shiny new Exotic until Season 17.

While Deluxe Edition owners have the option to get Osteo Striga this Season, getting hold of it requires an extensive grind, something which veteran Destiny 2 players are accustomed to.

Osteo Striga Weapon Pattern

To get Osteo Striga, you have to craft it using Destiny 2’s latest weapon crafting system. You will first need the Osteo Striga pattern (blueprint), which you get after finishing The Witch Queen campaign either at Classic or Legendary difficulty.

The real grind begins once you acquire the Osteo Striga blueprint. To craft it, you will need the following items:

  • 7 Resonant Alloy
  • 15,000 Glimmer
  • 2,375 Neutral Element
  • 1 Ascendant Alloy
  • 70 Ruminous Element

Of all the crafting materials mentioned above, farming Neutral Element will take the most time. At the time of this writing, the only guaranteed way to get Neutral Element in abundance is by attuning Deepsight Resonance weapons. For a more detailed explanation, check out our guide on how to farm Neutral Element.

While it can be tempting to shape and reshape any and every Legendary weapon and tinker it with weapon crafting in general, we recommend saving up those Ascendant Alloy, Neutral Element, and Ruminous Element for Oseteo Striga if you bought the Deluxe Edition of The Witch Queen.

That concludes our guide on how to get Osteo Striga in Destiny 2 The Witch Queen. Make sure to check out our  Destiny 2 section.
