There are a handful of smaller endings that can be earned in Elden Ring, but the Lord of Frenzied flame is one of the three major endings with major implications. Compared to the other two endings, the Lord of Frenzied flame may be the worst in terms of lore and it is incredibly easy to miss if players don’t know how to find it. Unlike the Age of Stars ending with Ranni, getting the Frenzied Flame finale will only require one difficult sequence that this guide will outline!
Become the Lord of Frenzied Flame in Elden Ring
To begin the process for the Lord of Frenzied Flame ending in Elden Ring, you will need to reach Leyndell, Royal Capital. The capital itself won’t help much in helping players get the ending, but there is an entrance there that leads to the Subterranean Shunning-Grounds, a long sewer system underneath the city. Getting here is of paramount importance for those of you who want this ending, and navigating won’t be easy. But if you can make it all the way through, the Frenzied Flame will be ready as the finale arrives.

Steps for earning the Lord of Frenzied Flame ending:
- Reach the Avenue Balcony lost grace site in Leyndell. From here, move forward and leap off of the left side balcony.
- In this area, look for a well with a ladder, this can be taken to the Subterranean Shunning-Grounds.
- Players will need to complete this area and follow the sewer system to an elevator. Some rats in the pipes will typically lead the way.
- When the elevator is reached, you will be brought down to a catacombs-like area that has a boss; Mohg the Omen.
- Defeat Mohg and hit the altar that sits behind the chest. This will reveal another area. However, it will be closed off until Morgott is defeated in Leyndell.
- Head down the path to an area with a steep drop. You will need to do some platform jumping across beams and coffins. Be prepared to die a few times here.
- At the bottom, there will be a lost grace and a massive door at the end of the hallway.
- To interact with the door, remove all equipment and armor for a prompt to appear.
Interacting with the door will cause a cutscene to begin and players will be accepted as the Lord of Frenzied Flame. From here, you will simply need to beat the game and interact with the statue in the finale, but the timing on this door matters.
When to open the door of Frenzied Flame in Elden Ring
If you open the door of the Three Fingers and the Frenzied Flame, players will have effective betrayed Melina and the roots may burn down. For those that want the standard playthrough, it is best to wait until Leyndell is full of ash to open the door. This area can still be accessed, even after Maliketh has fallen.
When players choose this ending, there is no choosing anything else like the other endings allow. The only way out of it is to find a needle of Miquella to reverse the process. With that in mind, make sure this ending is what you want, especially if you are going for every trophy and achievement.
