While there are plenty of options to play solo in Remnant 2, it’s much more fun if you can play with some friends or others through matchmaking. There are multiple options to play this title with someone else, be it your friends or someone from across the world. This can be a great help in boss fights or if you need a helping hand solving difficult problems.

It’s really easy to play with friends in Remnant 2 once you meet the requirements and progress to a certain point in the campaign.

You won’t unlock the ability to play with friends until you complete the tutorial and go into the stone for the first time. This will transport you into a new world, at which point you’ll need to get to the first Checkpoint stone to be able to summon them. Once you’ve got this far into the story, or skipped it after the first character, you’ll also be able to join friends in addition to them joining you.

Players will need to be inside of a level to access the friends’ list and join that way, but you can try to also join from the friends menu of whatever service you’re playing on.

To join your friends, you have two different options. One is that you can pause the game with the start button on your controller or “Escape” on the keyboard. Scroll to the System tab and click friends, there will be an arrow like the image above if you can join a friend. Crossplay is only available on the same system, but players can also join through the game’s friend service as normal.

Once you beat the tutorial for the first time, you’ll be able to play co-op with your friends in Remnant 2.
