Counter-Strike 2 FPS Command – How to Show FPS
First, you’ll need to enable the developer console to show your FPS in CS2. The developer console setting can be found within the game settings. Here’s where to find it:

- Click the Settings Cog located in the top left corner of the screen.
- Navigate to the Game tab.
- At the top of these settings will be the Game section.
- Look for “Enable Developer Console (~)” and ensure it’s set to Yes. If it’s set to No, click on it and select Yes from the dropdown.
With the developer console enabled, you can now display your FPS:
- Press the ` key (located above the Tab key) to open the developer console.
- Type cl_showfps 1 and hit Enter.
The FPS will be displayed in red on the left side of your screen. While it may not be the most aesthetically pleasing location, it serves its purpose in CS2.

How to turn off FPS in CS2
If you no longer wish to see your FPS in Counter-Strike 2, it’s easy to turn off:
- Open the developer console by pressing the ` key.
- Type cl_showfps 0 and hit Enter.
This will remove the FPS counter from your screen.
What is the FPS Max Command in CS2?
The FPS Max Command allows you to set a cap on the maximum frames per second your computer will render. This can be especially useful for those with high-refresh-rate monitors or powerful graphics cards. To set a specific FPS limit:
- Open the developer console by pressing the ` key.
- Type fps_max [your desired FPS limit] and hit Enter.
- Don’t include the brackets.
For example, typing fps_max 160 will cap your FPS at 160. If you want to maximize your FPS, simply type fps_max, and your FPS will be automatically set to a maximum of 400.
