We all agree steering in Lego Fortnite isn’t exactly the best and easiest. But there are a few methods you can use to help you steer better. Here, I’ll list them out so you can give them a try!

Let us know of any weird and whacky ways you’ve thought of to control your Lego Fortnite Vehicles!

Lego Fortnite – How to Steer

Below are two ways in which you can steer in Lego Fortnite. The first relies on many wheels and a boulder and is called the Boulder Method by the creator, Its Rascal. The second uses levers and such to steer the vehicle. I used Perfect Score to learn how to do this method, but he believes a user called Whisk created this idea. Shout out to all of you for these!

Boulder Method in Lego Fortnite

This method requires no propulsion or thrusters of any kind. Instead, it relies on collision to move the vehicle.

Step 1: Acquire a Boulder

  • To start, you need a boulder. If you can’t find a small one to pick up, break a large boulder with your pickaxe.
  • This boulder is crucial as it acts as the propulsion mechanism for your car.

Step 2: Building the Base

  • Place Dynamic Foundations for your car. A two-block-long base is recommended.
  • Add wheels to your car. The placement of these wheels is flexible, suiting your design preferences.

Step 3: Setting Up the Steering Mechanism

  • Place two tires at the front of the car, ensuring they are adjacent and centrally aligned.
  • Construct a bridge-like structure extending towards these front tires using Wood Foundations.

  • Attach additional tires beneath this bridge. Centering these tires is beneficial for balanced movement.
  • Add one tire at the back of the car; this assists in reversing.

Step 4: Activating the Boulder Method

  • Pick up the boulder and jump onto your car.
  • Walk into the front tires with the boulder. This interaction between the boulder and the tires creates a unique propulsion and steering mechanism.

Step 5: Steering Your Car

  • To steer the car, simply walk towards the side you wish to turn. Moving towards the right tire will steer the car right, and vice versa for the left.
  • This method doesn’t require thrusters and relies on the interaction between the boulder and the tires for movement.

Images really do not do this justice, so watch Its Rascal’s YouTube video below and see how it works; it’s really cool! To see how they move it, skip to 1:20! Thank you, Its Rascal!

Lever Method

The level method is extremely complicated to describe, but in turn, it tricks the game into thinking several structures/parts are their own structures but actually are. I recommend watching this video and creating your own vehicle at the same time. Thank you, Perfect Score!
