Hunt: Showdown‘s 1.12.1 update introduces notable changes to the Wildcard Contract, as well as an increased Bounty Bonus and numerous game fixes, enhancing the gaming experience for both solo and group players.
The update introduces significant changes to the Wildcard Contract, as the developers continue to experiment with separate contracts. Players who opt for the Wildcard Contract will now be placed on a random map and will face single Boss Targets exclusively during nighttime. To help reduce waiting times, players will only have the option to play against trios. As an added incentive, the Wildcard Contract now offers an increased Bounty Bonus of 300 per extracted token.
The experimentation with the Wildcard Contract will continue over the weekend, from Friday, April 21st at 07:00 UTC until Monday, April 24th at 07:00 UTC. During this time, the Standard Contract will feature random missions, excluding the “Night” Time of Day, without any additional bonuses for successful extractions. The Wildcard Contract, on the other hand, will have nighttime missions with one random Boss Target and a 300-point bonus for each successfully extracted token. Matchmaking for the Wildcard Contract will be set to trios only, placing solos, duos, and trios in the same pool. On Monday morning, the game will revert to a single Standard Contract, and the “Night” Time of Day will be reintegrated into the rotation.
Along with the adjustments to the Wildcard Contract, the 1.12.1 update also addresses several issues within the game. It fixes problems causing FPS drops when closing the map, disappearing “Match Found” and “All Servers Occupied” banners after switching tabs, and the lack of base ammo progression for special weapons in Challenges or Quests. The update also resolves a rare issue causing environmental elements to vanish upon a Hunter’s revival, excessive damage dealt by poison clouds to AI per damage tick, and the ability for Hunters to carry five consumables in their inventory after looting static saddles.
Here’s a look at the full patch notes from the developers:
Wildcard Contract Experiment
In this release, the Wildcard Contract has undergone further adjustments as we plan to run them again and continue our experiment around separate contracts. Players who choose the Wildcard option will be placed on a random map and will only encounter single Boss Targets during nighttime. Furthermore, players will only have the option to play against trios to help streamline waiting times. In addition, the Wildcard Contract now offers an increased Bounty Bonus of 300 per extracted token!
