Ascendant Studios is upgrading its first-person shooter game, Immortals of Aveum. The studio is adding High Dynamic Range (HDR) support to all console versions. The latest update is coming with HDR support and will improve the visual experience for players with HDR-compatible screens. This will give those wanting to try the game a better experience.
As shared with Eurogamer, the HDR upgrade is the initial of many major updates heading to Immortals of Aveum. We remember the game as bombing hard and even wrote about how an employee thought it was a bad idea as a whole. However, as learned when the studio stated it wasn’t done yet, more updates are coming to the game.
In the future update (1.0.6.4), consoles will get the introduction of AMD’s FSR 3 upscaling technology for the first time. FSR 3 enhances performance by cleverly boosting resolution and generating extra frames, resulting in smoother gameplay and higher frame rates.
The introduction of FSR 3 is designed to assist console players by adding compatibility for 120Hz screens. This means smoother frame rates and improved responsiveness during gameplay are coming. What was specifically shared with Eurogamer in a PR statement was it would be here “in just a few short weeks… In a future update.”
The developers of Immortals of Aveum have also announced extended support for Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) monitors and TVs on both PCs and consoles with the FSR 3 update. VRR technology aims to provide a smoother and more consistent experience by matching the display’s refresh rate with the game’s frame rate, addressing issues such as screen tearing and judder.
While the console updates are coming soon, PC players of Immortals of Aveum can also look forward to improvements. HDR support is being developed for PCs and is expected to be available in an upcoming update. Moreover, the PC version will see enhancements with the latest FSR 3 implementation, addressing frame pacing issues from the previous version.
The patch with FSR 3 frame generation tech is set to launch on consoles in a few weeks. Digital Foundry, a respected source for detailed technical analysis, intends to assess FSR 3’s first console use as soon as possible. Fans and potential players can anticipate notable visual enhancements and performance upgrades coming to Immortals of Aveum soon.
