EA has announced that Immortals of Aveum will be receiving a free gameplay update on November 16, 2023. The update, called The Echollector Update will include new playable content, gear, lore, and a new difficulty setting.
According to an EA blog post, the new content will be available to players who have reached the final chapter of the game. It involves cleansing corrupted Shatterfanes and defeating a new boss. Shatterfanes are portals to new and undiscovered areas that the Everwar created.
New Game+ will let you start a new game with most of your abilities and spells, just like New Game Plus modes in other games. You can also further upgrade your gear and take on updated fights. The new Grand Magnus difficulty setting in Immortals of Aveum is designed to be a harder difficulty. Enemies will be more powerful and aggressive, and it will be a real challenge for players.
Immortals of Aveum definitely didn’t do as well as many would expect. The game doesn’t have a huge fanbase and isn’t a contender for Game of the Year. The game was released around the same time as Armored Core which ended up doing very well. In my opinion, this update is an attempt to get more players, especially when you consider the free trial EA is giving out.
EA is releasing a free trial for Immortals of Aveum on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The free trial will be available when the new update comes. PC players will also be able to try the game for free through the PC demo on Steam. The demo is expected to be released in the second half of November.
Now is your time to play the game if you are interested. The trial only goes up to Chapter 3, so it’s enough to at least know if this game is your cup of tea.
