Devil May Cry 5 was first released in March 2019 and immediately won the hearts of both longtime fans of the series and newcomers to the franchise alike, thanks to its characteristic and extremely stylish combat system, graphics, as well as its story. In the game, which is set years after the events showcased on 2008’s Devil May Cry 4, players take on the role of Nero, Dante, as well as that of the new and mysterious V, as they explore and fight their way through hordes of demons in a mission to discover the truth behind the appearance of a demonic tree on Red Grave City, as well as its purpose.
In November 2020, the game’s Special Edition was released on launch day for both the PS5 and the Xbox Series X. The version featured improved graphics and resolution, increased framerate, the debut of new game modes, a new difficulty setting, as well as the debut of Vergil as a playable character.

You can currently play Devil May Cry 5 on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, via Steam. The game’s special Edition, on the other hand, can be played exclusively on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. PS4, Xbox One, and PC players can currently add Virgil to their roster of characters, as well as experience his story by buying the Devil May Cry 5 – Playable Character: Vergil DLC.
