Today, Keen Games revealed their latest project, Enshrouded, a survival action RPG set in a decaying world corrupted by a mysterious fog. Designed for 1 to 16 players, Enshrouded is the next title from the independent development team behind the award-winning Portal Knights and is set to be available on Steam Early Access for PC in 2023.
The world of Enshrouded has been ravaged by a pestilence that has mutated the land’s inhabitants, driving them mad and under the fog’s control. Players awaken as “Flameborn”, the last hope of an ancient civilization, and must rely on their latent arcane power to explore the realm of Embervale, hunt, gather, and craft their way to victory.
Creative Director of Enshrouded, Antony Christoulakis, expressed the team’s enthusiasm, stating, “Enshrouded is the culmination of what Keen Games dreamt of creating for years. We can’t wait to bring this to our players and to shape the future of Enshrouded together with our community.”
Throughout their journey, players will venture into forests, deserts, and dungeons, facing the challenges of the Shroud, a creeping blight that mutates and corrupts all life it encounters. To combat the Shroud, players will need to master powerful weapons, spells, and armor, developing a unique playstyle to withstand enemy factions and conquer brutal bosses in intense combat.
Enshrouded offers extensive crafting and base building features, allowing players to shape the world’s terrain and build awe-inspiring homes designed down to the last detail. By awakening powerful NPCs, players can unlock advanced workshops and craft unique items and mythical weapons.
This survival action RPG boasts a rich and immersive experience, with character customization, engaging boss battles, action-packed combat, and survival and exploration aspects. Players will be challenged to survive in the vast world of Embervale while battling corrupted creatures and discovering hidden secrets.
Enshrouded invites players to embark on a journey of survival, crafting, and action RPG combat in a sprawling voxel-based world, with the freedom to choose their path and shape their destiny.
