Kerbal Space Program 2, developer Intercept Games’ divisive follow-up in the hit simulation series, has just rolled out the new Update v0.1.1.0 with patch notes, and revealed some plans for Patch Two.

The Early Access version of the game is available now on PC, and the official site has confirmed that Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 will both be supported after Early Access is completed. Here’s the patch notes announcement from Kerbal Space Program’s Twitter feed:

Kerbal Space Program 2 is an incredibly ambitious game, with gorgeous new visuals and a lot of new mechanics. Most complaints about the game simply involve technical flaws, thus far, which would be ordinary for an Early Access release.

Unfortunately, the sheer volume of bugs is surprising, and they have left fans with a lot of justified disappointment. The hype behind each trailer led the fanbase to believe this game could potentially replace the first one outright. It really seems as if Kerbal Space Program 2 needed more time before it could even enter Early Access.

So, today’s official blog post should come as a major relief, boasting “approximately 300 changes” in the new update. The team is playing catch-up, but they’re communicating honestly and clearly putting in serious effort.

Today’s post adds that Patch Two is expected to roll out “in the next few weeks”. It will address fuel line issues, vessel switching in an atmosphere, and more.

Overall, Kerbal Space Program 2 feels like it’s staggered, but the central mechanics and ideas still have promise for a satisfying game. So, it’s worth holding out for the full launch and helping the devs get there. You can read the complete patch notes here.
