Warhorse Studios critically acclaimed Kingdom Come: Deliverance will release its Royal Edition on the Nintendo Switch in early 2024. This is a pretty big deal, as Kingdom Come: Deliverance is a high-end game, both graphically and process-wise. The Nintendo Switch could handle games that require more processing power if this were the case.
As announced in a tweet, this was developed in collaboration with the porting experts at Saber Games, known for their successful Switch adaptations of titles like The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and Crysis Remastered. They’re a very skilled studio and were able to pack everything from Kingdom Come: Deliverance Royal Edition in such a way that it works on Nintendo Switch.
The Royal Edition of Kingdom Come: Deliverance bundles the base game with all its previously released DLC, including:
- From the Ashes: Players can rebuild the war-torn village of Skalitz, shaping its destiny and influencing the lives of its inhabitants.
- The Amorous Adventures of Bold Sir Hans Capon: Join Hans Capon on a hilarious quest to find love, encountering new characters and side-quests.
- Band of Bastards: An adventure with a band of mercenaries, taking on challenging combat encounters and unraveling a dark conspiracy.
- A Woman’s Lot: The story from the perspective of Theresa, Henry’s childhood friend, offers a fresh perspective on the events of the game.
- All Treasure Maps: Gives you maps to the treasures in the world.
For those who have never played, Kingdom Come: Deliverance puts you into the shoes of Henry, a blacksmith’s son thrust into a world of war and turmoil. It’s about as realistic as possible because you need to earn everything, from money to skill. Henry will respond slower and with less accuracy when you start until you level up each skill to happen right after you press a button.
The game has you slowly progress in mastering swordsmanship, building relationships, reading, and much more. The narrative is also amazing, with incredible twists I never saw coming.
If you were ever interested in playing Kingdom Come: Deliverance and own a Nintendo Switch, I’d say to buy it when it releases in 2024.
