LEGO 2K Drive, the upcoming open world LEGO racing game from Visual Concepts Entertainment and 2K Games, just revealed another gameplay trailer. LEGO 2K Drive launches on May 19th, 2023, for PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation and Xbox.

Continuing with the “ANN” LEGO news theme that was used last week, today’s new trailer shows off key features of the massive biomes that players can explore. These include the starting zone Turbo Acres, as well as Big Butte, Prospecto Valley, and Hauntsborough. You can watch the full trailer on the LEGO 2K Drive YouTube channel:

LEGO 2K Drive launches next month, but the pacing of these trailers is impressive because of how much content they’re revealing. It really hints at the true scope of the game, and all of the new biomes clearly showcase its limitless potential.

The biomes in today’s trailer boast some terrific art design that really captures the spirit of each theme, much like the LEGO products themselves. It’s a relief to see how well-balanced the natural environments are with the LEGO structures. The pacing of the open world is also much clearer now, with such an emphasis on cliffs and ramps across each biome.

Some new power-ups on the track were also showcased today, which adds the obligatory Mario Kart mechanic to each race. The trailer’s power-up results in a punishing explosion of bricks, which looks gorgeous and suggests that some races could get quite competitive.

Notably, the power-ups appear to be themed, too. In the glimpse of Hauntsborough, the screen is covered in a spider web. In this way, different biomes could offer unique gameplay on the track, which is another great incentive for players to explore. LEGO 2K Drive is shaping up to be something special, assuming it functions properly.
