Epic Games has become the go-to company to partner with to create new experiences for players. Whether through Fortnite or the Epic Games Store, the developer spends lots of money trying new things to bring in new players. Epic has partnered with LEGO to bring a unique place for kids inside the metaverse.
The LEGO Group and Epic Games put out a press release today that announces the two companies are entering into a long-term partnership to create a place for children inside the metaverse. According to the announcement, Epic will design this new digital experience to allow creativity and inspiration to flow freely.
Epic and Lego metaverse partnership
It seems likely that this new space will be a place that allows children to create with LEGOs in a new digital environment. It’s the hope that this space will help kids develop new creative ideas by giving them the tools to make whatever they want. Niels Christiansen, the CEO of LEGO, is quoted, “We believe there is huge potential for them to develop life-long skills such as creativity, collaboration, and communication.”
Christiansen then continues by saying Epic and LEGO also have a responsibility to make sure that it is a safe environment for kids so that they can focus on creating. By defending a child’s rights, he believes that this partnership can create a unique and innovative space for children in the metaverse to enjoy.
Tim Sweeney, CEO of Epic Games, gives credit to The LEGO Group for its continued success worldwide. “The LEGO Group has captivated the imaginations of children and adults… we are excited to come together to build a space in the metaverse.”
Creating a new place in the metaverse

The metaverse is an evolving concept that is changing how people work and play together. For example, friends from across the world can now sit in the same room and watch a movie thanks to the advancement of VR and media company partnerships. As one of the most successful gaming companies in the world, Epic Games is the perfect partner for this endeavor.
Epic Games has the tools and experience from years of work in the gaming industry, creating new projects and evolving on the ones it already has. Children’s protection is just as crucial to Epic as it is to The LEGO Group, and both have made it clear what’s essential in this project. The two companies hope to protect children’s rights through this partnership while also empowering their creativity.
Since this is the first announcement of the partnership, it will likely be years before players can interact with the new LEGO world.
