LEGO Bricktales, the casual puzzle game based on LEGO dioramas from developer ClockStone and publisher Thunderful Games, will officially be rolled out on mobile devices on April 27th, 2023. It will be available on both the App Store and Google Play, and the description in today’s new trailer sets the price tag at $4.99.
LEGO Bricktales originally launched on October 12th, 2022, and is currently available on PC, Xbox, PlayStation, or the Nintendo Switch. You can watch today’s mobile release date trailer on Thunderful Games’ YouTube channel:
LEGO Bricktales has received almost unanimous praise from both gamers and LEGO fans. The visuals are absolutely gorgeous, capturing both the spirit of the bricks themselves and the living, breathing worlds that fans imagine them to be. The diorama approach kept the world contained to a familiar size, akin to a basic set, creating a cozy and colorful experience.
True, the countless TT Games entries provide fun IP crossovers, and the likes of LEGO Worlds allowed for extensive freedom. And LEGO 2K Drive, which continues to release playful new updates like the biome trailer last week, has a dazzling open world too. However, LEGO Bricktales provides the soothing simplicity of inspiration and building. There’s a purity to that, keeping things smaller and patient.
LEGO Bricktales will surely be a hit on mobile devices. It was already popular enough on the Nintendo Switch, which allows for mobile gaming too. Releasing the game on mobile devices makes sense, since there’s already a big market for LEGO games in that scene.
LEGO Bricktales also feels a little closer to those existing mobile titles, and its mechanics are straightforward enough that nothing should be lost in translation with the new port.
