Lies of P is full of things not to do, such as dying by puppets, dying by bosses, and dying from falling off things. While you’re customizing weapons and exploring, you’ll start coming across Cryptic Vessels. These are puzzles where you need to find the location pictured in the photograph.
There are six Cryptic Vessels to find; however, you cannot start decrypting them until you’ve found an NPC called Venigni and defeated a boss called King’s Flame. Here’s a list of all six Cryptic Vessel Solutions and locations.

How to get Crafted Cryptic Vessel
From the St. Frangelico Cathedral Chapel Stargazer, climb the Cathedral until you can kick a brazier from a ledge to dispel the decayed water in Lies of P. Retrace your steps to uncover a previously blocked underground stairway due to the decayed water. Unlock the door to discover the first Crafted Cryptic. How to solve Crafted Cryptic Vessel Decryption
Hand over the Crafted Cryptic to Venigni to receive the Cryptic Vessel Decryption. Viewing this Decryption says, “Orders: Strike the puppet hanging from the Aclhemist Bridge on Elysion Boulevard.”
Now, head to the Krat City Hall stargazer, about-face, through the open door, and start crossing the bridge, and you’ll see the puppet. It’s extremely hard to miss, trust me. Throw anything you have at the hanging puppet for it to drop the second clue, Letter with the Refuge’s Address, which reads, “Address: Elysion Boulevard 221b. Love, Aedlina, a key is enclosed.“
Head back to any stargazer, and choose Inside the House on Elysion Boulevard as your destination in Lies of P. Upon spawning, head out to the door directly in front of you, go across the wooden beam, and interact with the first door on your right, which is 221B. Inside, you’ll find a safe. Rip it open to get Owl Doctor’s Apparel and Quartz.
Jeweled Cryptic Vessel – Estella Opera House Entrance – Lies of P
How to get Jeweled Cryptic Vessel
You’ll get the Jeweled Cryptic Vessel inside Estella Opera House, more specifically, the top floor in the room with a hole in the floor with a ladder going down in Lies of P. Instead of going down, use the ladder going up to the right of the door, to find the chest with the Jeweled Cryptic Vessel inside. How to solve Jeweled Cryptic Vessel Decryption
Once again, go back to Venigni and hand over the Jeweled Cryptic Vessell to receive the Jeweled Cryptic Vessel Decryption. This Decryption reads, “Orders: Check the ground at the end of the cliff of Krat Station Street, where there is a good view of the ocean and Krat’s landmarks.”
Use a stargazer and go to Cerasani Alley. Upon spawning, about-face, and go down the steps on your right. Then, head left and follow the path until you see a lone tree in Lies of P. From the tree, go right until you find a single barrel by itself next to a metal fence. On the barrels right, you’ll see some rocks and rumble. Use the check Ground Gesture to get Legion Caliber and The Atoned’s Hunting Apparel outfit.
Old Cryptic Vessel – Barren Swamp Bridge – Lies of P
How to get Old Cryptic Vessel
At the Barren Swamp Bridge stargazer, speak to the Rookie Explorer Hugo, and select “About the Discovered Treasure” option to get the Old Cryptic Vessel.
How to solve Old Cryptic Vessel Decryption
As always, go back to Venigni and give him the old Cryptic to receive the Old Cryptic Vessel Decryption. Use a stargazer and head to Path of the Pilgrim in Lies of P . Enter the hut on the left and go down the lift. Head through the open door gap and climb the ladder on your right. Then, head right over the wooden bridge. Until you get to a fire barrel and some trees, drop down to the right of the trees, and you’ll see a hut.
Go towards the hut to find a new NPC, the Slum Resident. Speak to him to get the Robber’s Shack Key. Use the key on the door just before the NPC.
DON’T rush straight for the chest, as the floor will give way, and you’ll fall into a trap and have to battle your way out. Skirt around the wall on your right to open the chest without issue for a Legion Caliber and Life Amulet +1. You can hear people below confused about why you didn’t fall through the trap. It’s pretty funny. But you then may as well fall into the trap and kill everything for fun.
Rusty Cryptic Vessel – Collapsed Krat – Lies of P
How to get Rusty Cryptic Vessel
To get the Rusty Cryptic Vessel, you must first make it to Chapter 9 and the area Collapsed Street. Here, you’ll find a Special Krat Supply Box. Starting in the room where you get Primer for Workshop Technicians in Lies of P, go through the broken wall and skirt left. Fall down on the platform to your right. Head back the direction you just came, then go right to find a ladder. Descend or jump down to find a chest, and inside, you’ll find Special Krat Supply Box. Now, take this to Polendina in the hotel to expand his shop and purchase the Rusty Cryptic Vessel for 1000 Ergo.
How to solve Rusty Cryptic Vessel Decryption
Like before, go back to Venigni and give him the Rusty Cryptic to receive the Rusty Cryptic Vessel Decryption. This Decryption reads. “Orders: Find the cave blocked off by metal bars in the Barren Swamp. There is a reward at the end of the new road.” Fast travel to Barren Swamp Bridge in Lies of P, and as you spawn, head to the newly locked area in front of you, where the Rookie Explorer once stood, the Hermit’s Lair.
Descend down the ladder and follow the path on the right, then descend the ladder on your left and go across the wooden boards. Keep following the linear path, keeping a careful lookout for traps. When you see a step of wooden stairs, head up to find an elite enemy. That speaks to you after it’s dead… After the enemy lies defeated, head up the stairs and open the safe to get Black Cat’s Hunting Apparel and Quartz.

Alidoro’s Cryptic Vessel – Relic of Trismegistus Combat Field – Lies of P
How to get Alidoro’s Cryptic Vessel
To get Alidoro’s Cryptic Vessel, you must defeat the Black Rabbit Brotherhood. Once done, head up the hill and speak to Alidoro. You must kill Alidoro to get the Cryptic Vessel in Lies of P. If you spare Alidoro, you’ll miss the chance to get this vessel. Once Alidoro is dead and looted, head back to Hoten Krat.

Speak to Venigni to get Alidoro’s Cryptic Vessel Decryption. Read it all, and then find Eugénie. Tell her the truth about her brother’s (Alidoro’s) death. A little tip: if you rest at the stargazer, then return to speak to her, you’ll unlock The Story of a Stranger Girl Achievement/Trophy.
Mechanical Cryptic Vessel – Arche Abbey Broken Rift – Lies of P
How to get Mechanical Cryptic Vessel
From the Arche Abbey Broken Rift stargazer, go through the pillar room and through the archway, then take the right. Follow the metal plating on the ground, and keep going until you see a closed gate on your left. Head right, then climb the ladder. At the top of the ladder, go right, and take your second left; in front of this left will be a harlequin enemy. Kill them, and loot the chest at the end, containing the Mechanical Cryptic Vessel. How to solve Mechanical Cryptic Vessel Decryption
To solve this Mechanical Cryptic Vessel Decryption, you need a weapon called Frozen Feast. This weapon can only be acquired after killing Champion Victor, a main boss, and going to Explorer Hugo at Hotel Krat since Alidoro is dead.
Like every time before, go back and give the Mechanical Cryptic Vessel back to Venigni to acquire Mechanical Cryptic Vessel Decryption. It’ll read “Order: The train doesn’t leave anymore, and the merchant awaits, a “Frozen Feast” in the destroyed town.“
Now, teleport to the Abandoned Apartment stargazer. Head to the stairs on your left to leave the building. Head right, and hug the wall until you can go right again and cross the white sign acting as a bridge. After crossing the sign, go left, ignore the stairs on the right, and instead go through the gap to the left of them, between a pillar of rock.
Cross the rock bridge on your left, then head right. Take the first left, go through an archway, and up the stairs in front of you. At the top of these stairs, you’ll encounter an NPC called the Wandering Merchant. Show him the Frozen Feast weapon to get Red Fox’s Hunting Apparel.
