Developers have released an extended gameplay walkthrough video for the forthcoming dark fantasy action-RPG, Lords of the Fallen. As a fabled Dark Crusader, players will set out on an epic quest to overthrow Adyr, the demon God, in the game’s vast and sprawling world.

The extended gameplay video takes viewers on an exclusive tour of Mournstead, a prominent region within the game’s world. It showcases Skyrest Bridge, guarded by one of the game’s early bosses, Pieta, She of the Blessed Renewal. Players must vanquish Pieta to proceed with their mission to restore radiance to the six beacons of the Sentinels, thereby curbing Adyr’s uprising.

A distinctive feature of Lords of the Fallen is its combat mechanics, where melee, magic, and ranged abilities are seamlessly interwoven. Players have an array of options at their disposal, ranging from standard attacks to catalysts, bows, crossbows, or throwables. The game allows for mapping up to four additional magic or ranged skills to the controller for immediate access, which expedites combat and lessens the need to switch between options.

The game’s world is split into two realms: Axiom, the realm of the living, and Umbral, the realm of the dead. When players are defeated in Axiom, they resurrect in Umbral, offering one more chance to survive. Each realm is distinct, featuring unique pathways, enemies, characters, and treasures.

To aid in survival, players can spawn resting points, known as Vestige Seedlings, at significant resource cost. However, only one can be spawned at a time. Players can also level up their stats at these locations, and choose between three schools of sorcery to master: Rhogar, Radiant, and Umbral.

Additionally, the game features a co-op mode. Players can invite a second player to join their journey at any of the vestiges. The cooperative companion, who can be a friend or a randomly selected player, can remain at the player’s side for as long as they choose.

The gameplay video wraps up by unveiling Lower Calrath, an infamous district known for its brutality, and hints at the encounter with the Spurned Progeny, a colossal foe residing in Calrath.

Lords of the Fallen is slated for release on Friday the 13th of October. Players can pre-order the game on PC, PS5 & Xbox Series X|S.
