Mario Kart Tour, Nintendo’s mobile version of the hit kart series, has just released a new trailer for the upcoming Mario vs. Luigi tour, as well as the new Wave 34 of Mii Racing Suits. The new tour is slated to launch next week on June 13th, 2023, at 11 PM pacific time.
The Mario vs. Luigi tour will feature the N64 Mario Raceway, GBA Luigi Circuit, and GCN (GameCube) Waluigi Stadium for the very first time. You can watch the new tour’s gameplay trailer on the Mario Kart Tour YouTube channel:
Although Mario Kart Tour updates so regularly, with the new Princess Tour arriving just last week, it rarely fails to surprise. This often involves a healthy dose of nostalgia, but the devs do seem to be putting in a lot of effort when remaking classic tracks.
The details for all of the upcoming tracks in the new tour look gorgeous. It’s appreciated that they haven’t altered much, and that players have gotten a fair sense of variety. There always seems to be a chance that something a little more obscure will arrive.
However, the new update also marks the redundant return of a Mario vs. Luigi tour, including recolors of existing cosmetics. The versus tours are few and far between, so fans are justifiably annoyed that so many other characters are being ignored. It wouldn’t be surprising if the Peach vs. Bowser tour returned soon.
Versus tours are still a fun concept with lots of potential, though, and the new tracks are fantastic additions. Also, you can watch the new trailer for the next wave of Mii Racing Suits, which release with the new tour, on the game’s YouTube channel:
