Mario Kart Tour has released two new trailers today for the upcoming Night Tour update, which rolls out next week on June 27th, 2023, at 11 PM pacific time. The update will feature an evening theme, a new Rome Avanti course, Wii Moonview Highway, and an alt for Donkey Kong.
Mario Kart Tour is free to start, and available now on the App Store and Google Play. You can watch today’s Night Tour trailer on the Mario Kart Tour YouTube channel:
Rome Avanti is an immediate standout for the Night Tour, and is almost certain to be added into a Booster Course Pack in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, which just released a trailer for Wave 5. Rome Avanti has some obligatory references to Rome, such as the Colosseum, and that will certainly be fun. But it’s the smaller details in the architecture that truly impress.
The texture of the roads and the color scheme of the residential areas really capture a distinct personality, and thus far, fans have also found it pretty authentic.
The fanbase is also sure to enjoy Donkey Kong’s variant. It’s remarkable that such a classic character has been so overlooked, especially following their appearance in the animated film, which was a massive hit. The Gladiator cosmetic is an obvious choice for this tour, but it does look great, with balanced colors and the classic sword and shield.
Wii Moonview Highway may be less novel, but its remake also overdue. It was always one of the most memorable tracks thanks to its complex visuals and traffic, creating a sense of scope.
There was also a trailer for Wave 35 of the Mii Racing Suits, adding Fish Bone and Light Green outfits alongside the Night Tour:
