Mario Kart Tour, Nintendo’s popular mobile kart racing game, has just released a new trailer for the upcoming “Mii Tour”, which is due to roll out on May 16th, 2023, at 11 PM pacific time. The update will feature the new GCN Mushroom Bridge course, Mii Racing Suits wave 32, and more.
Mario Kart Tour is free to play and available now on the App Store and Google Play. You can watch the full Mii Tour Trailer on the Nintendo Mobile YouTube channel:
The entire Mario Kart franchise has been thriving on nostalgia these days, but it is admittedly effective, nonetheless. Rediscovering some of the more obscure courses, which Mario Kart Tour has been uniquely suited and willing to provide, has been a real treat.
The GCN Mushroom Bridge is an unexpected track that was teased just yesterday, but today’s trailer finally shows it in all its glory, and the modernized visuals are definitely impressive.
If you’re unfamiliar, GCN is simply an abbreviation for the Nintendo GameCube console. It’s probably best known for Luigi’s Mansion and over twenty years old now. It was a short-lived console, and perhaps a little underrated, but its graphics always seemed a bit lackluster. Those Mario Kart: Double Dash!! courses were no less creative than the rest of the sprawling series, and they did deserve a makeover.
Naturally, fans will be a little dismayed with a Mii Tour, since it’s another opportunity gone for familiar characters that been overlooked to appear. The same goes for the next wave of racing suits, as players continue to patiently wait for Wendy and end up disappointed.
But the Mii theme does give Nintendo the freedom to add cosmetics that aren’t tied to lore. You can check out all the new racing suits in today’s Wave 32 trailer:
