A week after its global launch on April 14th, Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection (MMBNLC) has made an impressive debut on Japanese sales charts. According to Famitsu, the Nintendo Switch version of the collection has sold 52,375 units, securing the #1 spot for the week of April 10th to April 16th, while the PlayStation 4 version followed closely, ranking #5 with 7,871 units sold. This brings the collection’s total sales to approximately 60,246 units within just three days.

The sales numbers only account for physical copies sold in Japan, and it is important to note that worldwide digital and physical sales have not yet been disclosed. However, the strong start in Japan suggests that MMBNLC could be on track to become the next million-seller in the Mega Man franchise. In comparison, MMBNLC has already outperformed all Mega Man X Legacy Collection versions (1, 2, and 1+2 bundle) and Mega Man 11 in a similar timeframe within the Japanese market according to Rockman Corner.

The Mega Man Battle Network series, which has expanded into anime and comics, is well-known for its electrifying grid-based battles, exploration of the net, and the search for rare and powerful BattleChips to build the ultimate deck of special moves. The Legacy Collection features ten action-packed games, a gallery of illustrations, music, and support for online play. Fans of the series can immerse themselves in the adventures of Lan Hikari and his NetNavi, MegaMan.EXE, as they join forces to confront network crimes in the “network age” of 200X.

The Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection includes:

  • Mega Man Battle Network
  • Mega Man Battle Network 2
  • Mega Man Battle Network 3 Blue
  • Mega Man Battle Network 3 White
  • Mega Man Battle Network 4 Red Sun
  • Mega Man Battle Network 4 Blue Moon
  • Mega Man Battle Network 5 Team Protoman
  • Mega Man Battle Network 5 Team Colonel
  • Mega Man Battle Network 6 Cybeast Gregar
  • Mega Man Battle Network 6 Cybeast Falzar

As MMBNLC continues to make waves in the Japanese market, fans and industry insiders alike eagerly await the worldwide sales figures to gain a fuller picture of the collection’s success and the potential future of the Mega Man franchise.
