A full library of games may be added to Game Pass by Activision

Some sources have said Activision-Blizzard actually does have big plans for Game Pass.

The Managing Editor of Windows Central is saying that Activision isn’t as up-front as it claims to be. The previous statement that games like Diablo 4 and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 aren’t guaranteed for Game Pass is claimed to be inaccurate. Sources have said that once the deal is done between Microsoft and Activision, you should keep an eye on Game Pass.

Sources have indicated to Jez Corden, managing editor of Windows Central, that “you can expect to see a bunch of Activision stuff hit Xbox Game Pass as soon as the deal is finalized.” Corden posted this on Twitter, and while we always take this stuff with a grain of salt, it makes sense.

It would be weird to not see Activision’s games on Game Pass if the company is owned by Microsoft. We already see a bunch of Bethesda, Mojang, and other titles from companies owned by Microsoft on Game Pass. Microsoft has made Game Pass the forefront of its services, and many deals they’ve made have only benefitted the service.

Activision had already tweeted that it does not have plans to start putting their games on Microsoft’s Game Pass. They name-dropped MW3 and Diablo IV in particular in their tweet, but it’s really hard to believe them.

Honestly, I really think that Blizzard, King, and Activision titles will all end up on the service very quickly. It costs about $13 for a World of Warcraft membership, and if that ends up on Game Pass – even with a higher fee for both – they’ll benefit greatly. This isn’t one of those things where you wonder if the company will make big decisions to benefit their service.

In the future, we can see older games such as Starcraft, Warcraft, Spider-Man, and many more being added to Game Pass because it is very beneficial for Microsoft to have a wide selection of games available on it.
