Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak has just released their brand-new digital event covering all of the details fans can expect from Version 13, also known as Title Update 3. The update will be free, and it has now been announced for November 24th, 2022.
A new roadmap has revealed that Version 14 is currently scheduled to roll out in Winter 2023, and will contain both “an elder dragon and a powered-up monster”. Version 15 has also been announced for Spring of 2023, and it will also add more monsters.

Surprisingly, fans were a little disappointed with the monsters that will be added in Version 13. The emphasis on returning creatures was a major issue, and to be fair, there isn’t a whole lot here that’s technically “new”. But the title update will be free after all, and it can be very rewarding for longtime fans to see classic monsters in a modern title.
Chaotic Gore Magala, which the event really kicks off with, is a particular fan favorite that was first introduced in Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate. That game was released nearly ten years ago now, so of course this mysterious variant was a highlight of the showcase, despite the Elder Dragon status of Risen Teostra and Risen Kushala Daora.
Fans also got to have a look at the armor that will result from the latest additions, and it looks absolutely glorious in Monster Hunter Rise. There were also a few quality-of-life changes, which are small but satisfying improvements.
Anomaly Research will be expanded to A7 quests, investigations are getting a new cap of level 200, and players will be able to lower the level of owned quests. Weapons and armor will gain new ways to be augmented, including the choice between Defense and Skills. Followers will now be accepted in more Master Rank quests, as well as anomaly quests and investigations.
Layered Weapons are expanding with a lineup of plushie-style makeovers, which will definitely divide the fans with cuteness that’s a love or hate approach.
