Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak, Capcom’s hit action RPG, will officially premiere its last digital event on June 7th, 2023, live at 7 PM PDT. According to a new trailer today, the event will feature a lot of key information for Version 16, as well as some dev interviews. You’ll be able to catch the event on Monster Hunter’s official Twitch channel.

Monster Hunter Rise is available now on PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation and Xbox, though the Sunbreak expansion hasn’t been ported to PlayStation or Xbox just yet. You can watch today’s digital event teaser on the Monster Hunter YouTube channel:

Unfortunately, today’s teaser remains relatively vague, but there’s a formula to these events that will make it easy enough for fans to speculate on customary reveals.

Also, it’s nice to hear that there will be developer interviews. Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak marks the end of an era, and today’s trailer description notes that the devs will be reflecting on the overall journey.

Hopefully, this could result in some hints about the future of the franchise. Not necessarily regarding content, but at least the general tone and systemic goals for the next generation of the series.

It has gone through quite a few changes, and the devs have impressively supported it with regular new content, which also happens to feel pretty open-minded for such a big title. Now that competitors are on the market, such as Wild Hearts, it’ll be interesting to see how Monster Hunter responds and evolves.

There has also been some incredible franchise expansion. Despite the ill-fated movie adaptation of the series, Steamforged Games has been creating some remarkable board game adaptations with stunning miniatures. Monster Hunter has become more accessible than ever without losing its personality.
