Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak, the latest DLC in the hit action RPG series from developer and publisher Capcom, just hosted a full digital event covering all the key details for Free Title Update 5. The event confirmed the appearance of Amatsu, new Special Investigations, Event Quest rewards, and more.
Today’s event revealed the update will be available tomorrow, April 20th, 2023, and that Sunbreak in full will finally reach PC, Xbox, and PlayStation on April 28th, 2023. Note that Sunbreak will only include content up to Ver. 13, and the rest will be added this Summer for those platforms.

Although the likes of Amatsu was quickly predicted by fans, no one could have imagined the addition of in-game Lo-fi music. It was an absolute delight to see the host character positioned to resemble the classic Lofi Girl.
It’s always nice to see a Risen twist, but it does feel like they’re losing their novelty. Amatsu’s return is the real highlight and includes some gorgeous effects. They also seem to be tougher than ever.
So, longtime fans who mastered Monster Hunter Generations shouldn’t let their guard down. The angled whirlwinds look genuinely dazzling, and there’s an air of unpredictability that makes Amatsu a very fun addition. The new equipment from Amatsu and Risen Shagaru Magala both look magnificent, with some creative designs that capture their likeness.
Fans were happily surprised when the event revealed a Bonus Update, now scheduled for June. Free Title Update 5 was expected to be the final word on this entire generation of games, but it seems there will be at least one more additional monster. It’ll need to be a classic to send off Monster Hunter Rise properly.
