Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak, the latest installment in the hit series from developer and publisher Capcom, will host a brand-new digital event on April 19th, 2023. The event will begin at 7 AM PDT, featuring content and a release date for Free Title Update 5, Version 15. The host will be fan favorite Fiorayne, to close things on a high note.
Monster Hunter Rise is available now on PC and all major consoles, and the Sunbreak expansion is expected later on. You can watch the full digital event teaser on the Monster Hunter YouTube channel:
Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak released Free Title Update 4 just last February, offering up Velkhana and some Risen variants. After the next update, the franchise will be moving on to the future generation of games, so fans are hoping for a proper sendoff in Ver. 15.
The fifth generation of games has been a long and rewarding journey. Monster Hunter: World lived up to its name, and introduced the series to countless new audiences in all regions. Along with the Iceborne expansion, Monster Hunter World was the most accessible game to date, even if getting into a coop hunt was a little tricky.
It would be terrific if the sixth generation of entries could continue down the current path, which has seen a decent amount of support and content throughout.
A variety of rumors and fan theories based on the letter in today’s teaser all point to Amatsu turning up in Free Title Update 5. Amatsu is basically a storm incarnate, with weather-based abilities, and that kind of behavior would be really neat to see with today’s visual ceiling. Although it wasn’t the first time they appeared, most fans will probably recognize Amatsu from Monster Hunter Generations.
