MultiVersus Season 1 Is Launching… Again?

MultiVersus is starting fresh with Season 1 content again, so it seems like things are for real this time.

The free-to-play fighting game with Warner Bros. characters, MultiVersus, is apparently coming back. In what is a strange twist, it seems to be relaunching with Season 1 content all over again. I can’t say I saw this one coming, but not many people are taking this well.

Following a year of silence, some new information has emerged about MultiVersus. Although the initial open beta included a Season 1, it appears that this content will not be integrated into the game’s continuing storyline. Warner Bros. has yet to explain this decision officially, but it looks like the game may have tried to fix all the issues and create content before reopening. It seems like the initial “this was just a beta” excuse didn’t hold a lot of water.

The supposed relaunch has caused different reactions from the community. Some people are confused about starting with Season 1 again, comparing it to a strategy often seen in comic books. Despite this “reset,” there’s a lot of hope for this season.

The game’s main idea of letting players battle with characters like Finn the Human, Shaggy, Batman, and even the Iron Giant remains very popular. Moreover, the relaunch introduces fresh new content. Mark Hamill will voice the newly playable Joker, who was presented in a flashy trailer highlighting his dramatic arrival.

Looking ahead, MultiVersus seems to be moving towards a live-service approach. We all knew this was coming since the beta was also filled with Microtransactions. Warner Bros. wants to keep players interested by continually adding new content, such as characters, costumes, and features. We’ll see how it all goes.
