My Time at Sandrock, the indie building sim and RPG from developer and publisher Pathea Games, has revealed key details on the next update. It’s now expected to roll out sometime later this month or in early April. The key features will include new side stories, a new dungeon, an auto assemble station and more. Here’s the big announcement from My Time at Sandrock’s official Twitter feed:
Despite the high expectations set by Pathea Games’ 2019 RPG builder My Time At Portia, My Time at Sandrock launched last year to high praise. It has managed to distinguish itself as far more than My Time at Portia with a Western makeover, and today’s update preview continues to reinforce that. There are some really neat features coming up.
The auto assembly station is going to make a big difference in resource management, since crafting can sometimes feel tedious in any game, even those that thrive on it. There will also be a Mole Mine order station, which will provide more resources to speed up crafting efficiency.
At this point, longtime fans who have mastered the game already could really use these tools to smooth out the gameplay loop. It’ll free up the time for players to work on personal projects, which is the great fun of the game.
Naturally, more storytelling and dungeons are always nice, and the devs have done well introducing new narratives. But adding all-new mechanics like January’s multiplayer open playtest will make a serious difference ahead of the full launch. The volume of content added throughout Early Access has been pretty impressive.
Lastly, the official blog notes that a marriage system preview “will be posted in the part 3”. Those kinds of mechanics always add intrigue and meaning to the story, so the devs are still headed in the right direction.
