In an exciting announcement during the latest Nintendo Direct showcase, developer Beamdog and publisher Aspyr have officially confirmed the release of their upcoming first-person melee roguelike game, MythForce, for the Nintendo Switch platform.
Inspired by the beloved cartoons of the 80s, MythForce offers an action-packed roguelike experience where players must restart from the beginning each time they are defeated, gradually growing stronger with every playthrough. MythForce is set to launch this Fall across various platforms, including PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC. An early access version of this game is already available on the Epic Games Store, and other PC fans can now try some of the game’s features through a demo version available on Steam.
In MythForce, players will take on the role of a cartoon hero in a Saturday morning cartoon fantasy world. Players will select a character from a roster of four courageous champions, namely Victoria the valiant Knight, Rico the charming Rogue, Maggie the wise Mage, and Hawkins the deadly Hunter. Together, these champions form the legendary team known as MythForce. The game promises to deliver a nostalgic and wholesome experience, offering ‘easy to pick-up-and-play but tough to master’ mechanics.
As players explore the dungeon in MythForce, they will level up and discover magical artifacts and upgrades. Equipped with legendary weapons and powerful magic, players will engage in thrilling battles against hordes of enemies in a colorful cartoon castle. The game ensures that each attempt to storm the keep presents fresh adventures, with a replayable dungeon filled with treasures, traps, and terrors lurking around every corner. Players can embark on this roguelike adventure alone or join forces with up to three friends in co-op mode.
For console users who wish to be alerted when MythForce is released, the game is now available to wishlist on Nintendo eShop, PlayStation Store, and Xbox Store.
