Capcom appears to be gearing up for another event as a Capcom Showcase has been hinted at through an online event on Facebook. Slated to occur on June 12th at 3pm PT, the Capcom Showcase UK is expected to be a concise presentation lasting around 36 minutes.
Update: This has now been confirmed on the Capcom website.
The details were revealed via a tweet from the Twitter account ResiEvilCentral:
While there’s limited information on what the event will entail, there’s no denying Capcom’s recent achievements, particularly with its enduring Street Fighter franchise. The newly released Street Fighter 6 has attracted over a million players, contributing to the overall 50 million copies sold of the series in its entirety. These milestones could potentially be a focus during the showcase.
Capcom’s diverse portfolio leaves room for plenty of speculation on the content of the Showcase. With a roster of iconic franchises under their belt, attendees might witness the unveiling of a new Resident Evil installment, an Ada/Wesker Mercenaries DLC, or the official announcement of the Separate Ways DLC for the Resident Evil 4 Remake.
Looking back at the Capcom Spotlight in March 2023, it’s clear that the company isn’t shy about making significant revelations. That event saw the introduction of the Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection, Hikaru Takahashi as the new color commentator for Street Fighter 6, and the release dates for Exoprimal and Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective. Additionally, Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak was announced for PlayStation and Xbox platforms, and a demo for Resident Evil 4 became available.
