Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2 has just revealed an all-new character spotlight trailer featuring Raphael from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. It shows off their unique moves and high-speed playstyle, including shuriken throws and more.

Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2 is officially slated to launch in fall 2023, and rumored for a late October release date. You can watch today’s new Raphael spotlight trailer on publisher GameMill Entertainment’s YouTube channel:

TMNT is definitely a hot property right now, following the broad success of the recent animated film Mutant Mayhem. Shredder’s Revenge is releasing new DLC this week, and an adaptation for The Last Ronin was recently announced. However, Raphael has often been a point of conflict in the group of turtles, as he usually has a fiery attitude.

That might be why they didn’t get a big feature in the first Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl, which instead opted for the leader Leonardo, the fun-loving youth Michelangelo, and of course April. But today’s trailer is quick to point out that Raphael’s personality is perfect for players who enjoy aggressive, chaotic, and speedy gameplay. They’ll be a welcome addition in the sequel.

The devs have smartly translated Raphael’s personality into their kit. The narration for today’s gameplay officially calls Raphael “the fastest character in the game”, but also warns that they’re “one of the lightest characters in the game”.

This high-risk, high-reward balancing is a fun way to show Raphael’s, well, enthusiastic approach. You’re definitely encouraged to rush into battle, with the right moves to capitalize on it. But they could be severely punished, making Raphael feel similar to Squidward, whose spotlight trailer was first revealed a couple of weeks ago.

Either way, skilled players will definitely benefit from all-purpose moves like the Power Drill side special and sub-special kick. But the most satisfying thing about becoming a Raphael main will probably be just how much the abilities should genuinely make you feel like the character.
