Following new guidelines heavily restricting all streamers on the platform, many have come out strongly against the recent restrictions. One of the most famous Fortnite streamers, Tyler “Ninja” Blevins, has stated that he simply cannot afford to stream exclusively on Twitch all the time anymore.
In a post from streaming journalist HUN2R on Twitter, Ninja can be heard saying that he simply can’t afford to stream on the platform anymore if he’s restricted from also streaming other places. He recognizes that he has 10,000 viewers on Twitch usually, but he also just doesn’t support the rule.
“I’m telling you right now, I’m not going to stream on Twitch full-time after the simulcast rule, I can’t.” Ninja starts plainly. He states that this “sucks” because that’s where the majority of his viewership comes from on Twitch, at one point being as high as 100,000 concurrent viewers. He feels like cutting off that large of an audience is a huge missed opportunity for himself, but it could affect Twitch too.
He plainly calls it a boycott, saying that the Amazon-owned company has given him no other choice but to stream on “literally any other platform.” Such responses caused Twitch to immediately back down on the ad guidelines, issuing a statement saying the language was too broad and it will be narrowed down.

This seemed to apply more to the ad guidelines and less to simulcasting though, which seems like something that might be more of a hard line for Twitch. Without updated guidelines, all we can really do is speculate as we wait to see whether Twitch rescinds further or Ninja leaves the platform.
