While Nintendo hosted a Super Mario Bros. Wonder Direct at the end of last month, many fans have recognized that the developer has also held full Directs every year in September for holiday releases. While many have been speculating about a release date, a gaming website alleges it has insider information that there will be a Nintendo Direct next week, sometime between Sep. 11 to 15.
The news comes from the Portuguese gaming website Universo Nintendo, which states that it has a reliable source, although they prefer to remain anonymous. This is just a rumor until we hear official confirmation from Nintendo or see more reliable proof, but it does line up with past Nintendo Directs hosted around this time.

Nintendo usually hosts Directs around this time to announce the new titles it has coming to get players excited in time for the holidays. As many have commented, Nintendo hasn’t missed a September for a Direct in the last decade, so it would be suspect if it suddenly broke that tradition this year.
Not only that, but the developer has a significant number of titles releasing this holiday, with the new Pokemon Scarlet and Violet DLC and the Super Mario RPG remake releasing in the next few months.
