The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, the highly anticipated sequel in the classic adventure series from developer and publisher Nintendo, just revealed its final pre-launch trailer. Tears of the Kingdom is slated to launch on May 12th, 2023, and will only be available on the Nintendo Switch. You can watch the third trailer on the official Nintendo YouTube channel here:
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom has already released quite a lot of footage. Just a couple of weeks ago, Nintendo revealed an extensive gameplay showcase that was nearly 14 minutes long. It featured many of Link’s new abilities, and “Fuse” really got fans buzzing.
However, even though today’s trailer used many epic cinematics, it achieved far more in showing off the ambitious scope of the Tears of the Kingdom world and storytelling.
The sheer volume of content was nothing short of overwhelming. Fans got a fresh look at Link’s new abilities in action, elaboration on the plot, and some of the best music the series has ever produced. Anyone who may have somehow remained skeptical after the previous trailers will be sold.
It seems the true sense of pacing and scale hadn’t quite been revealed. It’s now clear that players will have unprecedented access to nearly every kind of terrain imaginable for the series, as well as an equal degree of interaction.
Little moments like Link’s Recall mid-battle, or the Temple of Doom style cart action, offer countless details. Fans could probably need an entire month to break all of this down, so Nintendo has definitely saved the best for last. Once again, the developers of this series have managed to reward longtime players without compromising a vision for the future.
