Overwatch 2 Final Ranks Issue: Blizzard Investigates Lower Tier Rewards for Players

Blizzard is currently investigating an issue in Overwatch 2 where the end-of-season final ranks for Season 3 were modified, causing some players to receive lower tier rewards. The development team is working to resolve these issues and will provide more information as soon as updates are available. The issue is not the only one currently affecting the game, as some console players’ Career Profiles may not be updating correctly, and an LC-208 error has been reported by some players.

We want to keep you up to date on some of the bugs and issues we’re aware of that are affecting the game. This is not a complete list of all currently tracked issues affecting Overwatch 2, rather this is a targeted list of some known specific issues with this release.

Current Issues

We are investigating an issue where Season Three end-of-season final ranks were modified causing lower tier rewards issued for some players.

With the launch of Season 4 we’re introducing tech to detect when PlayStation®5 users are playing on the PS4™ version and display the option for users to upgrade to the PS5™ version for free. The PS5™ version will offer a better gameplay experience that has been optimized for your console.

Some players are experiencing an LC-208 error, and the team is currently investigating a fix for this issue.

Overwatch 2 Season 4 welcomes players to the “Overwatch 2 Space Opera,” featuring cosmic events, stellar skins, and cosmetics, as well as a milky way of gameplay updates centered around the latest hero, Lifeweaver. Players can unlock Lifeweaver and support their teams with biolight healing and utility. The Premium Battle Pass offers Galactic Emperor Sigma and other space opera cosmetics for players to earn.

Lifeweaver, a scientist from Thailand, has a diverse kit enabling him to heal and rescue teammates with abilities such as Healing Blossom, Thorn Volley, Petal Platform, and Life Grip. His ultimate ability, Tree of Life, provides sustained healing and protection. Season 4 also includes balance updates and a reworked ultimate ability for Brigitte, along with small changes to Sigma, Reinhardt, and Cassidy.

Blizzard has addressed feedback regarding Mercy’s changes in Season 3, reverting some adjustments and slightly modifying her Guardian Angel ability.

There have been several updates to improve the Competitive experience in Overwatch 2, including the removal of seasonal decay and the display of the average skill rating of the match at the beginning of the game. Backfilling for Unranked matches has also been improved, ensuring that players entering a match in progress have a skill rating as close to other players in the match as possible, for fairer gameplay.
