On April 11, 2023, a new patch for Overwatch 2 is set to go live across PC, Xbox, PlayStation, and Nintendo Switch platforms. Among various updates, the patch introduces significant changes to Brigitte’s Rally ultimate ability.
Previously, Rally granted temporary health to Brigitte and her nearby allies, taking time to build up its defensive benefits. However, the new patch alters the ultimate’s functionality. Brigitte will now gain a 100-point restorable armor health pool during Rally, while her Barrier Shield is upgraded in size and health, increasing from 300 to 750. This allows Brigitte to provide better protection for teammates as they accumulate temporary health. Additionally, her Shield Bash will impact multiple enemies and briefly stun them during Rally. The bonus movement speed, however, is reduced from 30% to 15%.
Furthermore, the patch modifies Brigitte’s Repair Pack ability by reducing its range from 30 to 25 meters. These changes aim to maintain Rally’s role as a defensive ultimate ability while increasing its immediate impact on the battlefield.
Besides the Brigitte updates, the patch introduces a new Support hero, Lifeweaver, from Thailand, who uses biolight in combat. The patch also features a new Battle Pass, including Mythic Space Conqueror Sigma, along with free rewards obtainable throughout the season.
The update also brings general improvements, such as accessibility enhancements that allow players to select custom colors for health, armor, shields, and overhealth bars. The Stranded Spawn System now enables players to regroup more easily after getting stranded in a spawn room by allowing them to teleport to the new active spawn room using the Interact key.
Lastly, matchmaking improvements in Unranked modes prioritize backfilling players with skill levels closer to those already in the match, while optimizations for large groups enhance matchmaking quality.
Overall, the upcoming Overwatch 2 patch promises to enhance gameplay with significant changes to Brigitte’s Rally ultimate ability, as well as new content and general updates to improve player experience.
