Palworld Adding New Pals That Don’t Look Like Pokémon

Palworld announces new Pals in a summer update as designs shift away from Pokémon comparisons.

Pocketpair, the team behind Palworld, has revealed their plans for a major summer update. The upcoming update will introduce a range of new creatures and features to the game. While everyone is aware of the next update coming, the pals are something we’ve not seen before.

Four new Pals have been confirmed for addition. They include a frog with a stick, an ostrich-like creature with elaborate head feathers, a levitating dog-like creature, and a small creature with a mushroom head. These new additions appear to depart from the Pokémon-inspired designs that garnered some initial criticism. This change in design could directly respond to the previous statement from The Pokémon Company, which hinted at investigating Palworld for potential copyright infringement.

In an upcoming update, a new flamethrower weapon will be introduced to the game alongside the addition of new Pals. Players can also anticipate the arrival of an Arena mode, likened to Pokémon Stadium. The news comes after a very successful release on Xbox, but there was no mention of whether it would eventually come to PlayStation.

There wasn’t much given to fans besides a tweet that showed the new Pals. In my opinion, the pals look really unique. We do say they’re not like Pokémon, but we all know that there are an insane number of Pokémon out there. It’s not fair to always compare Pals to Pokémon when there is even a trash bag Pokémon out there. We’ll see how fans will receive the new Pals.
