Pocket Pair, the creators of the well-known game Palworld, have launched a major update introducing the game’s first raid boss, Bellanoir. This update represents the first true expansion for the game’s difficulty. Aside from introducing the boss, it also brings new tough challenges and the chance to obtain rare Pal Eggs.
To summon Bellanoir, you need to use slabs found throughout the game world at the new Summoning Altar. Defeating her is a tough challenge in itself. She’s a very strong opponent and can’t be caught like other Pals (although that will likely change). To beat her, players must work together with their base Pals. However, those who succeed in this challenge have a chance to receive special Pal Eggs as a reward.
The latest update introduces a new “extreme” mode for experienced Palworld players. Alongside the challenging raid boss, a variety of new content is available. Players now have access to Training Manuals, which directly boost their Pals’ experience, and can use Recovery Meds to gradually restore their Pals’ HP over time. Exploring dungeons now rewards players with Ancient Technical Manuals, providing them with ancient technology points.
Of course, those of us who have already done mostly everything in Palworld will love to see this. Keep in mind, that Microsoft takes longer to approve updates than Steam, so this whole update has come to Steam first, and may take a bit to get to Xbox.
For those who love fast travel, the Homeward Thundercloud item instantly brings players back to their nearest base. Players who enjoy analyzing stats can use the Ability Glasses to see Pal stats. New updates have made base management easier. An Electric Egg Incubator automates the egg-hatching process, and an Ore Mining Site allows players to generate resources from their base.
Inventory management has been improved with chest filters for selective item storage. This is awesome because I always have to go through the chests and sort the items in the correct chests after the Pals are done with them. This leads to much wasted time, which won’t be an issue anymore. Additionally, players now have the ability to direct Pal’s actions by picking them up and guiding them towards a specific facility, thus overriding their breaks.
This is a significant update, but it is a preview of an even bigger one scheduled for summer 2024. There will be a new island, additional Pals, buildings, weapons, and tower bosses coming in that update. So, players have a lot to anticipate as Palworld continues to expand.
