Pocketpair, the developers behind the “Pokémon with guns” survival game Palworld, have outlined their plans for the title’s Early Access development period. The roadmap prioritizes addressing critical issues currently plaguing the game, including world date rollbacks and persistent loading screens. It also goes into many features that players have been wanting.
Based on a Reddit Post from the developers, Pocketpair is working on bug fixes, key configuration improvements, and ways to improve Pal pathfinding. These changes are scheduled for ASAP, so we may see hot fixes and updates as they finish. Unfortunately, Xbox users will have to wait because of how long it takes Microsoft to approve updates.
Looking further ahead, the roadmap details a range of exciting additions planned for Early Access. These include:
- PvP: Engage in competitive battles against other tamers.
- Raid Bosses: More like end-game content. Raids tend to be pretty weak overall, but that will change.
- Pal Arena: Witness and participate in PvP battles specifically for Pals, the game’s tamable creatures.
- Steam-Xbox Crossplay: Finally getting crossplay for the servers, but this will definitely require Microsoft to be on the same page and have the same updates as Steam.
- Xbox Feature Improvements: Xbox is way behind Steam regarding features and stability. This has to be fixed as soon as possible.
- Server Transfers and Migrations: Seamlessly move your progress between different servers.
- Building System Improvements: I had no issues here, so I don’t know what this means or what they are improving.
- New Content: The roadmap promises New islands, Pals, Bosses, and Technologies.

The roadmap doesn’t specify exact timeframes for these updates, but we will likely see the hot fixes and bug squashing come first. This isn’t really a timed roadmap, more of a starting point so players know what is being worked on.
The developers will likely make a new one that is adapted to community requests and based on their staffing, which should grow due to the extra money the company took in. Palworld launched into Early Access on January 19th, 2024, and has already garnered a strong player base, exceeding 5 million purchases within its first week. They are likely looking to hire new staff to help handle these updates and changes. So we should see some improvements soon.
